Serpentine Tools

FOR THE BOILER AND REFRIGERATION INDUSTRIES
Serpentine tools are designed to exact outside diameter/centerline radii specifications requiring continuous 180-degree plane change bends.  The clamp die is designed to “ramp” in-between the centers of the serpentine bends and clamp against a straight leg.  The bend die is built with a raised centerline height and a ramp to accommodate the travel of the clamp die. The pressure die must have a special relief cut to clear the previous bend when in position.  Both the clamp and pressure die cylinders use a stroke restrictor to limit the closing distance of their respective tools.  The mandrel extractor and wiper die holder must also be raised to match the bend die centerline height.  Either mandrel bending or “pinch” style (elliptical tube groove) no mandrel bending can be used in serpentine applications.
